This Smith line is in my husband's genealogy. Besides being a Smith, this ancestor's name is also John, which means there are a whole lot of men out there with similar names.

This John Smith was born 26 Aug 1753 or 1758, and he died 7 Oct 1842. He is buried in the Old Stone Church Cemetery in Ft. Defiance, Augusta County, Virginia.

He married Martha Wallace, 13 Sep 1791, in Albemarle County, Virginia.

Martha was born about 1774, and died 1 Mar 1821, in Charlottesville, Virginia.
