John Wescott

John Wescott was born about 1797 (said to be born in Rhode Island). He died 31 Oct 1865 in Marshalltown, Iowa. He was buried in Riverside Cemetery in Marshalltown.

He married Hannah Tate, probably in Nova Scotia.

Hannah was born 1802 in Nova Scotia, and died 30 Oct 1891 in Marshalltown, Iowa. She is buried in Riverside Cemetery with her husband.

Their children are:

1) Armanella (Amelia) Wescott, born about 1827, m: Mr. Scott

2) William Edwin Wescott, born 1830, and died 23 Jan 1892, m: Caroline May Strong

3) Adelaide V. Wescott, born about 1833, m: Stephen H. Gibson

4) Joseph Leander Wescott, born about 1835

5) Mary Sophia Wescott, born about 1833, m: Mr. Hardenbergh

6) Emeline Wescott

7) Charles Alfred Wescott, born about 1839, m: Mary Snyder

This family lived in Nova Scotia, moving to Kent County, Michigan, before 1839, and then on to Marshalltown, Iowa before 1860.
